Role Information

In Ashbrook, Rastaban will be told he works as a gardener for various non-profit local establishments, such as the Community Center. Due to his diligence and care, he's on good terms with many of Ashbrook's small town "leaders" such as Lily Wagner and Dr. Sam Levitt in particular. He also takes part in the local theatre from time to time, acting as a pinch hitter when someone falls out for whatever reason; his female performances are well-regarded by the likes of young men like Ricky Mallory, who doesn't believe for a second Rastaban doesn't have a twin sister he's hiding somewhere. While he's working on a nursing degree at Innsmouth University, it's slow going due to his active involvement in Ashbrook's community as well his own poor health. He's lived in Ashbrook for at least six years.

Now, it's time for you to decide the details! How did he become involved in the theatre? What sort of involvement might he have outside of tending to the gardens? Just how poor is his health now?

Rastaban got involved in the theatre by accident. He lost a bet and had to dress up as a girl. The theatre needed someone to take the female lead's place and they snatched Rastaban before he could protest. Despite being forced into it, he enjoyed acting and decided to continue as a way to honor his twin sister who died during childbirth, along with his mother. Rastaban doesn't hide that he's Rasta but since its a special tribute to his sister he is quick to correct his fanclub whenever they try to give him credit for his female performances. He will gladly take credit for his roles but not hers. This has led to some confusion as to whether Rasta really exists or not and it's why Ricky Mallory is convinced he is hiding a twin sister somewhere. The members of the theatre have also come to call her the ghost of the theatre.

Rastaban has been very private about his poor health so no one knows for sure how bad it is, only that it has got in the way of his performances from time to time but he stubbornly insists he's fine. What little free time he has, he usually spends at the library.

• Rastaban was born in Ashbrook as an only child to a single father; both his mother and would-be twin sibling died during childbirth.

• At the moment, he lives in the dormitories of the university. Rastaban may or may not have a roommate.

• With his nursing degree in progress, he knows better than basic first aid and can tend to most kinds of wounds, illnesses, and other such conditions. Additionally, he has a good idea of what bones look like.

• Through his theatre activities, Rastaban has gained quite the following! A fanclub of young men and women alike often leave gifts, letters, and bouquets outside his door and after performances. He'll find it easy to keep his finger on the pulse of happenings thanks to his popularity.

• However, because of the disruption his fans often cause, Marshall Wagner doesn't have the highest opinion of him.

Connections

When he works at the community center Lily often shoves him together with his fellow introvert Ledo. This only got worse when they made the mistake of acting like they knew each other after they met during witch practice. Now the two introverts never know peace.

Works with Break at the community theatre

Sometimes gets roped into helping the drama club and he's a mentor for Karol who also plays kids in the community theatre sometimes.
